I've spent my adult life wearing many hats – event planner, antiques dealer, decorator/stager, and piano teacher. With the advent of so many "flipping" shows, in 2015 I decided to look for a house to flip. Each Realtor friend I called to show me a home asked the same question, "Why don't you get your license?" I resisted for a while, knowing there would be plenty to learn about flipping, but final

ly went for it and at the same time, gave up the idea of flipping. Selling real estate turned out to be the perfect profession for me. I am married to Tray, a West Point graduate and marriage and family therapist, and we have two children. I share my husband's heart for ministry and have found real estate – helping people during a significant and stressful time in their lives – to be a wonderful way to serve others. I am a certified Senior Real Estate Specialist, Accredited Buyer Representative, and a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Club in 2016-2020. And besides the official stuff, I am responsible and trustworthy. Congrats to my sellers on the sale of their home in Dallas! 🏡

This one came through referrals from TWO different mutual friends who both told her, “Call Alicia.” That was such a compliment and made this one extra special from the start.

With so much competing inventory on the market, we knew we couldn’t just list the home and hope for the best. We got to work making sure it showed beautifully and didn’t give buyers any easy reasons to hesitate. The seller tackled little repairs, decluttered, we swapped some decor, staged strategically, and really polished everything up before going live.

Even with all that preparation, this market can still be tough, so we felt truly grateful when the right buyers chose this home. Now my seller is getting settled into her beautiful brand new home, and everyone gets a happy ending. ✨

This one taught me a few things. I loved their decor so much that I honestly didn’t realize buyers might feel overwhelmed by it. It was beautiful and full of personality, but when it comes to selling, “less is more” is usually true.

Midway through the listing, we pared things down,  updated photos, made a slight price adjustment, and then the right buyers showed up. 👏

A good reminder that sometimes success in real estate isn’t about starting perfectly. It’s about being willing to ask for help from your friends (huge thanks to my AC community!!), adjust, and keep moving forward. Happy ending for everyone. 🏡✨

Tray and I checked out the brand new West Park Sports Club on a rainy Saturday after it opened and we were delighted to find a well-designed, cozy and inviting space with good food and drinks and friendly staff.

Downstairs is a more intimate space and there’s outdoor patio seating that we’ll try next time. TVs are everywhere for all kinds of sports viewing.

Because last time I checked…
AI isn’t sweeping your porch,
unplugging that too-strong plug-in,
or getting your house ready for the market.

Real estate isn’t just contracts and clicks.
It’s showing up, getting your hands dirty,
and doing the little things that actually matter. Like holding your hand through the transaction, talking you off a ledge, or making sure every I is dotted.

Until AI starts doing that… we’re good 😉
