Today, I had a conversation with a fellow wedding vendor that really touched my heart. ❤️
She told me she admired me for posting videos in Spanish because she’s a little scared to put herself out there and speak on social media in her native language.
My response was simple: Don’t be afraid to be yourself. 🇲🇽❤️
When I decided to become a wedding officiant, one of my biggest goals was to serve my Spanish-speaking community. I was born in Los Angeles to immigrant parents, and I grew up watching my parents work incredibly hard for their family.
My father was deported around five times in the 1980s, but he never gave up. My mother has been a cook since she came to this country. Their hard work, sacrifices, and determination are a huge part of who I am today.
That’s why I do what I do.
I want couples in my community to have access to a beautiful, meaningful ceremony at a reasonable price. I know how hard we all work, and I believe love should never be exploited. You shouldn’t have to spend thousands of dollars just to have someone legally and beautifully celebrate your love.
I’m not ashamed of my accent.
I’m not ashamed of my skin color.
I’m not ashamed to speak Spanish.
And I will never be ashamed of where I come from. ❤️
I’m proud to be Latina, proud of my roots, and proud to serve my community. 🇲🇽🇺🇸
