Today’s appointment was a little different.

My client wanted me to notarize two POAs and two wills for her parents. Both the POAs and wills had already been acknowledged by their attorney years ago, but he’s no longer in business, so she wanted them acknowledged again for her own peace of mind.

I couldn’t notarize the wills because the witnesses weren’t available, but I was able to complete new acknowledgments for both POAs. I confirmed each parent’s identity, confirmed the signatures were theirs, and confirmed they signed the documents willingly.

Sometimes a client just wants that extra reassurance, and being able to give her that peace of mind is one of the reasons I love being a notary.
