Behavior Is Information

Behavior does not happen โ€œout of nowhere.โ€

In ABA, we look at what happened before the behavior, what the behavior looked like, and what happened after. That helps us understand patterns instead of guessing.

When we understand the pattern, we can teach safer, more helpful skills.

Behavior is information. It is not a character flaw.

Day 2 of 7: Start Small

Routines do not need to be complicated to work.

Start with one part of the day. Maybe it is getting ready in the morning, coming home from school, mealtime, or bedtime.

Pick a routine, keep the steps the same, and praise your child as they follow through.

Small, simple, consistent steps can make a big difference over time. ๐Ÿ’š

โžก๏ธHome routines help kids feel calm, confident, and connected.
Simple steps. Predictable days. Less stress at home.

Home routines do more than keep the day organized โ€” they help children feel safe, confident, and ready to learn.

When routines are predictable, children know what to expect. This can reduce stress, support smoother transitions, and increase independence with everyday skills like getting dressed, mealtime, homework, bath time, and bedtime.

Start small: choose one stressful part of the day, break it into simple steps, keep the order the same, and praise your child for following through.

Small routines can lead to big progress. ๐Ÿ’š Don't know where to start? Drop a comment below or reach out to the office for support!
