Everyday working people are struggling.

“As anticipated, we saw a steady increase in bankruptcy filings throughout 2024 and expect that growth trend to continue throughout 2025,” said Michael Hunter, VP of Epiq AACER. “If the current trend continues, new bankruptcy filings will return to pre-pandemic normalized volumes over the next...

Thankful that I am able to help provide a better financial future for my clients!

In the U.S. a bankruptcy discharge provides the proverbial fresh start to move forward with life. Money troubles do not have to cloud a life forever.

Credit reports are created solely for the creditors, not for consumers, and they are created without our permission. It is amazing how the credit score system has caused consumers to believe that the score is for them and a measure of economic worth. Credit scores are not a measure of worth.

From UpNorthNews:
What We Know About the Wisconsin Young Adults Who Signed Up for Student Debt Relief
We're getting our most detailed look yet at who will be helped by President Biden's student debt relief program. POLITICO created an interactive map using federal data to show where the 25 million Americans who applied for the program live.
Here's what they found...

More than half of all applications came from lower-income areas where people make less than $35,000/year. And nearly all, 98%, came from ZIP codes where the average income is less than $75,000.

There were more applications per capita in majority non-white neighborhoods. But overall, more white students applied (about 15 million) than non-white (8.6 million).

Blue districts had more applications, on average, than red districts—but not by much! About 52% of applications came from Democrat-won districts compared to 48% from GOP-won districts.

Click on the interactive map below to see who applied near you:

The POLITICO analysis provides most detailed portrait yet of which neighborhoods across the country may benefit from the program.

Before you decide how best to resolve your debts and get a fresh financial start, you should be familiar with the basic rules under which debt collectors operate. The rules for debt collection are generally outlined in the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and similar state collection laws (such as the Wisconsin Consumer Act). These rules govern how, how often and when original creditors or their debt collectors can contact you. Important changes to these rules are pending. See Consumer Reports article on the proposed changes at: https://www.consumerreports.org/debt-collection/debt-collectors-will-be-able-to-contact-you-on-facebook-instagram-twitter/. These pending changes would allow collectors to call you more often, to contact you by email, and to contact you on a potentially unlimited basis on social media. There are several steps you can take to protect yourself, limit these contacts and stop harassment. Please call an experienced debtors’ rights firm to help guide you through this process.

A new CFPB rule will give debt collectors agencies more ways to find you, including online. Consumer Reports shares advice on what to do if collectors come after you.
