We are deeply troubled by the recent wave of Reduction in Force (RIF) actions that appear to be politically motivated and will have a profoundly negative impact on our nation.

If you are a federal employee who has been impacted by a recent RIF action, you can inquire about representation on this page.

The EEOC recently finalized regulations relating to the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act. Employers must now provide reasonable accommodations for any pregnant employee experiencing limitations at work including longer bathroom breaks, adjustments in a work schedule, and telework. The increased protection and accommodations for pregant employees applies to both private and federal sector employees.

The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act requires agencies to provide reasonable accommodations, from longer breaks to telework.

Legal Justice At Work wishes you and yours a Happy New Year!

Last year LJAW was busy fighting hard to protect the rights of private sector and federal employees. In 2023, LJAW vigorously represented federal employees before the EEOC, MSPB, and in labor relations matters. LJAW represented private sector employees before state and local administrative bodies and in state and federal courts in discrimination and retaliation cases and FLSA class action litigation. LJAW even went all the way to the Kentucky Supreme Court to change the legal test used for determining if someone is an employee or independent contractor under Kentucky workers compensation law. In a unanimous decision, the Kentucky Supreme Court sided with LJAW's client and changed the law to the benefit of Kentucky workers. For those that are interested, here's a link to the decision: https://law.justia.com/cases/kentucky/supreme-court/2023/2022-sc-0003-wc.html #:~:text=In%20this%20workers%27%20compensation%20case,safeguard%20the%20protection%20afforded%20by

In 2024, LJAW will continue to fight hard to protect the rights of employees. With offices in Louisville, Kentucky and in Washington, D.C., LJAW is expanding its representation of federal employees to nationwide and making it easier for you to book a consultation and strategy session via calendly at

In this workers' compensation case, the Supreme Court vacated the ALJ's determination that Defendant was correct to deny Plaintiff benefits on the ground that he was an independent contractor, not an employee, holding that this Court hereby adopts the economic realities test to safeguard the protect...
