The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit dismissed as moot the NCAA's consolidated appeals challenging preliminary injunctions that had permitted two of Phoenix Partner and Collegiate & Professional Sports Practice Chair Gregg E. Clifton's clients to play college football during the 2025 season. The decision preserved lower courts' orders in favor of clients Cortez Braham Jr. and Tatuo Martinson. Lewis Brisbois was a proud of the 32nd annual Tour de Court, an annual tournament and bike ride spearheaded by Partner Jon Minkove. This year's event raised funds for the 's partnership with Blood Cancer United, Ulman Foundation, and the Jewish Caring Network.

"We’re incredibly grateful to our community for helping us raise roughly $63,000 (and counting) to support young adults impacted by cancer — all in memory of my sister, Rachel Minkove, whose spirit and legacy have turned our annual gathering of basketball, biking, and the usual shenanigans into something truly meaningful," said Jon in his post from the day.

Highlighting subtle but important differences between federal trade secrets law and the laws followed in several states, on July 14 the Ninth Circuit issued a decision vacating a $40 million jury on the grounds that the trial court erroneously used a jury instruction that was potentially applicable under the California Uniform Trade Secrets Act, which did not conform with the federal Defend Trade Secrets Act. As Partner Leo Bautista explains in a new , the California claims had been dismissed before trial and the Ninth Circuit found the error was not harmless.
