I absolutely loved my 2019 Chevy Traverse Premier and have gotten really spoiled with all the features it offered. But, it was time to let her go. With close to 187,000 miles on it, it went into "limp mode". Of course this would happen AFTER putting on new wipers, new brakes and rotors (thanks hubby), new windshield, new 02 sensor .. there was a problem with the transmission. On Easter Sunday on our way to church, I could not go any faster than 35 mph. I canceled all of my appointments on Monday and Tuesday and went new vehicle hunting.

Settled on a 2024 Hyundai Sonata with 12K miles. The interior is wonderful and the exterior color is beautiful! Now, she needs a name.

I need to rant and I need to scream.

I received a call yesterday from Signing Solutions to complete a deed signing that was scheduled for today at 4pm. I told them that 4pm would not work due to an appointment but I could do around 5:30pm. They said it wa fine, to work out a time with the borrower.

This morning, I sent out a text message as I always do, introducing myself and to let them know of the closing time and location. I didnt receive a response back (It was around 7:30am when I texted) but I did see the message was sent and read.

It's now 5pm and the docs are finally uploaded to the portal and it's more than a deed. I see that he signed documents yesterday, 3/16/2026, by another notary however a few docs were missed or incomplete.

Upon arriving at the home, I was greeted by a father who let me into the home and into the living room. I immediately heard them yelling from upstairs at each other about me. The male who turned out to the the signer came downstairs yelling at me saying,"Who are you?", "How did you get this address?" "Who told you to be here?". This prompted his brother to start in on me as well. As I'm sitting on the couch the brother is standing over me yelling and cursing at me. Now, I feel threatened and feel in danger. I am a young black female in a home way out in the outskirts of my county lines 10 mins away from my house. The brother kicked me out and told me to never come back. I left went home, told my husband, and called Signing Solutions back and told them the issue and noted it into the portal. A rep from the SS called me back to ask what happened again and I explained the situation. This all occurred in 3 mins.

Apparently, someone from that home called the Title company back and lied on me and said that I threw rocks at his truck as I was leaving.

Now, being in this job you are faced with many unknowns. You are going into homes of people you never met in places you have never went and probably will never go again. Make sure someone knows where you are at all times. Protect yourself at all times. No amount of money is EVER worth your life being put in danger. I was alone and outnumbered 3 to 1. I quickly collected my items and walked out the door.
