We are done pouring concrete walls! Woo-hoo! πŸŽ‰

This was truly a sight to see, three concrete trucks, one massive concrete pump truck, and our second floor is poured, and in the blocks.

Here is a rare selfie of Andy, guiding the pump nozzle along the walls 20+ feet in the air! It took three trips around the perimeter, to fill the blocks.

Long time no post (again!) πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

I've had a couple people ask us lately if we still have our business, so I figured I needed to make a post and update everyone about what's going on!

1) Yes, we still have the HC up and going.

2) We are currently building our own concrete home out of ICF. If you loved Legos as a kid, this is for you! I received a crash course in stacking block one day, and it was surprisingly fun!

3) I recently went back to the work force, and am not on the jobsite to take pics and make posts, which is why many have thought we closed up shop! Oops! Luckily, my job has a good schedule and will be able to help out on weekends and summers.

4) We haven't taken on a lot of contracting work lately, due to the house consuming the majority of our time.

Here's to summer being close by, well, not in forecast for this weekend, and hopefully keeping up with better progress pics of this project!

We love repeat customers!

Today we delivered an order of 225+ boards of smooth, kiln dried, edged cedar and pine to Parke County, Indiana. Bonus perk of seeing the first order of pine boards installed and varnished!

Then we got to take a boat ride on the private lake, this customer is top notch! πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ

Hello! Long time no post! The sawmill side of our business has picked up *drastically*! Andrew has been staying busy completing custom lumber orders, and I've been busy with an 18 month old!

Life seemed to take over and we (I, Erica) have neglected the page. If you remember, Andrew doesn't do social media, so it falls on me, and I dropped the ball. It's been almost two years since my last post, since then, one of us had a major, milestone birthday, and the other had a baby! I'll leave the deciphering to you!

Since the sawmill jobs have been picking up, we have TONS of lumber, slab wood, scraps, etc. for sale. I have lots of marketplace listings under my personal name, but if anyone is interested, I can try to post the listings on here too!

Thanks for hanging around, and here's to keeping up with the page better!

As promised, here are some snapshots of us welcoming Mr. Frederick and his family, back to his boyhood home.
They even brought some black and white photos of Mr. Frederick and the home. It was truly amazing to see how the house use to look, the descriptions of where things were located, and the wonderful memories that came back to him and his children.
I can't think the family enough for taking the time to meet us, answer some of our burning questions, and hear their stories. I sure hope the locals caught the article in last weeks newspaper, it was a good one!

We salute all the Veterans today.
Our favorite was Andy's dad, David. These photos are absolutely stunning of David's brother & best friend saluting him one final time.
Thank a Veteran today for your freedoms, they didn't come cheap.

If you've been wondering what we're doing to fill our days since the is finished, this is part of it.
You may remember my post from a while back about Andy being a 2nd generation Sawyer. He has been putting some hours in on his newly rebuilt sawmill, building a custom barn package. Since the price of lumber has skyrocketed due to COVID-19, a local man cut down his own trees and brought them to Andy to be made into lumber. He turned truck loads of logs into useable lumber for projects.
Andy has fond memories of watching and learning from his dad as he ran the mill. One of his chores was sweeping sawdust for a whopping $1. He now has an even deeper understanding of how hard his dad worked to provide for his family. This week, after working long days on the mill, Andy had a dream that his late father was sharpening his blades in the garage for him. πŸ’™ I'm so proud of the hard work that Andy puts in for our family, he had a great role model! Thanks for reading this sappy last paragraph.

πŸ“’πŸ—ž EXTRA, EXTRA, READ ALL ABOUT IT πŸ—žπŸ“’
The stars all aligned for us to meet with the original occupant and family to finally meet! ⭐
It has been a struggle to keep this under wraps until today! We met the wonderful family about 2 weeks ago, and the editor for the paper was actually able to come out and get a first hand look at us welcoming home Mr. Frederick. She wrote a fantastic story and it's worth picking up a copy today! Andy & I couldn't be happier with this story, not just the newspaper article, the whole story. ❀
I'll be sharing some of the candid photos in the coming days!
