We’re excited to welcome professional basketball to Visit Kenner this November at the Pontchartrain Convention & Civic Center and look forward to seeing our community come out and support our new hometown team.

We just left Kenner Mayor’s Court following today’s hearing regarding the former Esplanade Mall.

There continues to be a lot of interest and concern surrounding the condition, security and future of this property. I wanted to share a quick update on what happened in court today and what comes next.

Attorneys for the City of Kenner Government and the Esplanade Mall will appear in Mayor’s Court today regarding ongoing code violations at the property.

We continue working toward a long-term solution for this blighted site and the opportunity to bring new life to this important part of Kenner.

A partial lunar eclipse is underway, and the best viewing time will be around 11:12 PM tonight.

At maximum eclipse, about 94% of the Moon will be covered by Earth’s shadow, making for a pretty impressive sight if the clouds cooperate. The partial eclipse continues until about 12:51 AM.

We’re hoping to have the new visitor stands packed as teams from across the area take the field at Muss Bertolino Stadium.

It’s shaping up to be a great season, and we can’t wait for another exciting year of high school football at Bertolino! 🏟️🏈

September is Love Our Waterways Month in Jefferson Parish, and it’s a great reminder that litter left on our streets can eventually find its way into our storm drains, canals, bayous and waterways.
