It's not just "one issue" that is squeezing households; it's several. But here's one issue I believe that is going unnoticed, and that is the Treasury Department taking over student loan collections.
They are aggressive and can bypass the normal collection procedures. With 12 million borrowers already in delinquency or default status, when they start garnishing wages, the effects will be felt throughout household budgets.
