Mississippi Home Corporation We can help you put down roots and finance an affordable home MHC is self supporting.

A statewide Housing Task Force in its 1988 report, “A Decent Home for Every Mississippian,” recommended that the State create a hub agency for housing. As a result, the Legislature established the Mississippi Home Corporation (MHC) in 1989 as the legal successor in interest to the Mississippi Housing Finance Corporation as a government instrumentality, separate and apart from the State, charged with raising funds from private investors to finance the acquisition, construction and rehabilitation of residential housing for persons of low to moderate income within the State. The state of Mississippi does not provide funds to pay for MHC’s administrative operations. MHC has a Legislative Oversight Committee consisting of members from both the Senate and House of Representatives, and is guided by a nine (9) member Board of Directors.

Mississippi Home Corporation is proud to be part of the partnership helping 40 Yazoo City families turn years of renting into the dream of homeownership. This achievement is made possible through the collaboration and shared commitment to affordable housing demonstrated by Congressman Bennie Thompson, former Governor Haley Barbour, Hope Enterprise Corporation, Gateway Community Development, and many other housing partners.

Congratulations to the Roberts Estates families on this exciting new chapter!
