Last year, Crawford was proud to partner with the Hispanic Bar Association for “Dominoes Effect,” a dominoes night hosted at Shipman & Goodwin’s Hartford office. The event brought members of both bar associations together for an evening of connection, camaraderie and fun!

Following its success, the Hispanic Bar Association proposed making the event an annual collaboration, and Crawford was delighted to continue the tradition. We’re excited to come together again on September 17, 2026, for another great night of community and connection!

This past Sunday, the George W. Crawford Black Bar Association held its Annual Family Reunion at Holiday Hill, bringing together members, nonmembers, family, and friends for a wonderful day of fellowship and fun.
From swimming and basketball to games and other activities, the day was filled with nonstop fun for all ages. More importantly, the reunion gave us an opportunity to reconnect with friends and colleagues, spend time with family, strengthen relationships, and simply enjoy one another’s company outside of our professional lives.

A special thank you to McLean Law PLLC and Hirsch, Levy & Fountain, LLC for supporting the George W. Crawford Black Bar Association through their generous sponsorship of our reunion T-shirts. Your support helps strengthen our organization, foster fellowship among our members, and further our commitment to building and sustaining a strong legal community.

Today, members and board members of Crawford proudly attended the confirmation hearing in support of Judge Melanie L. Cradle. It was an honor to stand behind one of our own as she continues to lead with integrity and excellence.

The George Crawford Black Bar Association was proud to participate in the Connecticut Bar Association’s (Connecticut Bar Association) Law Day program at UConn School of Law, alongside leaders from the Connecticut Hispanic Bar Association and the Connecticut Asian Pacific American Bar Association, engaging with an inspiring group of high school students interested in the legal profession.

Together, we shared our experiences and answered thoughtful questions about extracurricular involvement, microaggressions, misogyny, navigating the legal profession, and building meaningful careers in law.

We are grateful to the Connecticut Bar Association for hosting this impactful program and for bringing Connecticut’s affinity bar associations together to educate, inspire, and empower tomorrow’s lawyers.
