She’s back! 🙌

We’re excited to welcome our summer law clerk back to the firm for another summer before she begins her final year at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.

Daniela Ramirez is a proud graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso, where she earned a degree in Criminal Justice with minors in Sociology and Legal Reasoning and has already served as a student attorney through DU’s clinical program.

Her passion for law comes from a desire to help people, and that’s exactly why personal injury law is so meaningful to her. Helping people rebuild after they’ve been harmed is work she’s proud to be part of, and we’re proud to have her on our team.

We are honored to see our partners Dan Caplis, John Kellner, and Babar Waheed recognized by the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association with the “Case of the Year” award for their work in the Estifanos v. Glenwood Caverns case.

Following a 3-week trial, a jury returned a historic $205 million verdict for the Estifanos family. The Court later found the conduct amounted to a felonious killing, removing statutory limits on damages.

This recognition reflects years of relentless work, and a commitment to pursuing accountability on behalf of Wongel Estifanos and her family.

Behind the scenes of interviews with our partners during the nomination process for “Case of the Year” in the Estifanos v. Glenwood Caverns case. This case was always about accountability, justice, and honoring Wongel’s life.

We’ll share more soon from the award night itself, where the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association ultimately honored the team with the 2025 “Case of the Year” award.

On May 7, 2019, Kendrick Castillo laid down his life to protect his classmates and teachers during the STEM School Highlands Ranch tragedy. Today, and every day, we remember Kendrick’s courage, selflessness, and sacrifice. He is one of Colorado’s greatest heroes, and his legacy will never be forgotten.

Our firm is truly honored to stand alongside and represent his brave parents.
