Higgins Benjamin, PLLC was formed in 2002 under the name Hunter, Higgins Miles, Elam, & Benjamin PLLC. The new firm brought together established and experienced lawyers with extensive roots in Greensboro. These roots give us the experience, insight and relationships that allow our lawyers to provide you with first rate legal services. Our strong Greensboro roots allow the firm to expand its reach

to well beyond Greensboro, including the remainder of the Piedmont Triad, North Carolina and into the majority of the Southeast. Gilbert (Bert) Andia, Jr. was selected to the 2022 North Carolina Super Lawyers® list in the area of "Civil Litigation: Defense."
Bert's practice includes civil litigation in numerous business areas including construction disputes, real property disputes, and intellectual property infringement. Bert is also a registered patent attorney who advises companies and individuals about trademark, patent, and copyright matters.
Jonathan (“Jon”) Wall was selected to the 2022 North Carolina Super Lawyers® in the area of Employment Litigation. Jon’s practice includes wage & hour class actions, noncompetition agreement litigation, discrimination, and wrongful discharge in violation of public policy.

Bob Hunter Joins Higgins Benjamin
Higgins Benjamin, PLLC, is pleased to announce that Judge Robert N. "Bob" Hunter Jr. is rejoining the firm. His practice will focus on alternative dispute resolution, federal and state appeals, and election law, effective April 1, 2019. Hunter has recently been appointed to the American Arbitration Association Commercial Disputes panel and has been a certified mediator in North Carolina since 1994.

Hunter served over 10 years on the North Carolina Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of North Carolina, during which he authored over 1,000 decisions. Before joining the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court, Hunter completed his J.D. at the University of North Carolina School of Law and was licensed in 1973. In 2014, he received his LL.M. at Duke University School of Law. While presiding on the bench, Judge Hunter served as adjunct professor at three law schools: N.C. Central University School of Law, Elon University School of Law and Wake Forest University School of Law.

Higgins Benjamin is pleased to announce that Fred Berry, previously with Barron & Berry, has become a member of the Firm. Fred represents plaintiffs and defendants in the areas of consumer fraud, business disputes, class actions, wrongful death, serious injury and will disputes. Fred’s experience includes serving as lead counsel in a number of consumer class actions. Fred’s approach to legal problems has resulted in significant court decisions that have changed and developed North Carolina law, particularly in the area of consumer protection.

For those familiar with Greensboro, it is the former US Trust Building, and is across Elm Street from the site of the Tanger Performing Arts Center. We can still be reached at 336-273-1600.
