Sharing from our Pest Control Company.
Rodents don’t slow down just because it’s winter. In fact, this is when they’re most comfortable settling into attics and wall voids where people are spending more time indoors. While you’re focused on staying warm and busy schedules, pests are nesting, spreading, and getting established. At the same time, the pests we associate with spring are already setting the stage to show up next.
What to Look for Right Now vs. What to Plan for Next
Signs You May Have Rodents
Scratching, gnawing, or movement sounds in walls or ceilings
Dropping in pantries, basements, or along baseboards
Chewed food packaging or insulation
Musty or unusual odors in hidden areas
Gnaw marks on wood, wires, or stored items
Pests to Start Preparing for Before Spring
Standing water and shaded areas where mosquitoes will breed
Mulch beds, foundations, and entry points where ants begin scouting
Tall grass, leaf litter, and yard edges where ticks thrive
Areas around the home that will become pest entry points once activity increases
Ticks, mosquitoes, and ants don’t become a problem the day you see them. They build up quietly, then seem to appear all at once. Planning prevention now is what keeps you from battling them for the entire spring and summer.
