That $400K house costs $863K?? 🤯 Let’s talk about it.

Financing $400,000 at 6% for 30 years = $2,398/mo and $463,352 in interest. Total paid: $863,352. Sounds terrible… until you factor in inflation.

At the average U.S. inflation rate of 3.9% (that’s the actual 50-year average), that same $400K house would cost $1.26 MILLION in 30 years. 📈

So while you’re paying $863K over 30 years — with a payment that NEVER goes up — the house itself outpaces what you paid. And you’re paying those future payments with inflated (cheaper) dollars.

That’s the time value of money. A dollar today ≠ a dollar in 2056. Renters pay tomorrow’s prices. Homeowners lock in today’s. 🔑
