US Home Prices Rise as Inventory Grows
Home prices are still on the rise, with the median sale price in the US now at $395,000—up about 2% from last year—even though overall sales have slipped by roughly 4%. There’s a bit more to choose from, too: the number of homes for sale is up about 5% nationwide. I’ve seen firsthand how buyers are staying active but taking their time, weighing their options more carefully—something I always encourage my clients to do.

Single-family homes are leading the pack, now reaching a $400,000 median price, with sales down about 4% and inventory up 6%. Condos are at a $349,000 median, and townhomes are holding steady around $360,000.
