Every transaction has a story... but this one ranks up as a favorite.
My client and I were destined for an adventure from the start. We even share the same birthday—August 10. Two Leos navigating one real estate transaction? What could possibly go wrong?
As it turns out... quite a bit.
We worked through appraisal challenges, financing hurdles, and more than a few roadblocks with the condo association😡 . Just when we thought we'd seen it all, the universe said, "Hold my beer."
My client had already moved out but stopped by the condo every few days to check on things. One afternoon, a friend walked in and found shattered glass, blood... and feathers.
Lots of feathers.
After cautiously following a trail upstairs, they discovered the culprit: an injured, very angry turkey sprinting through the condo.
The turkey had flown through the front windows stomped on the couch (think Dave Chapple) tore down the curtains, splattered blood on the walls, windows, and carpet, and absolutely demolished the bed that was still in the unit. (We'll spare you the details, but let's just say... it left its mark.)
Eventually, they managed to herd the turkey outside, where it flew away as if nothing had happened.
Fun fact: homeowners insurance doesn't typically cover bird damage inside your home.
Thankfully, we got everything repaired, replaced, cleaned up, and the transaction still made it to the closing table.
Because that's what buying and selling real estate is really about. Not every transaction is easy, but when unexpected challenges show up...and sometimes they have feathers you need someone who can help you navigate them and keep moving forward.
