COVID-19 MEASURES NOW IN PLACE
To comply with the Governor’s Proclamation 20-25 for the people of Washington to limit their activity to essential activities, including businesses, Newton Kight LLP has taken steps to address the call, while continuing to provide quality legal services as we have in our 107-year history.
Our firm remains functioning; however, protocols are in place to avoid unnecessary interactions in person. Unfortunately, this means limiting in-person contact. We encourage clients and other persons transacting business with our firm to employ electronic or telephone communication. When in-person contact is necessary, be advised our staff will cleanse the meeting room after each visit.
In particular, in this time of crisis, should a need for estate planning come to mind, be assured our firm has made the necessary adjustments to provide timely contact with those so inclined, including drafting and ex*****on of these documents in a safe, yet valid, manner. This may include wills or updates to wills, trusts or restatement of trusts, durable power of attorney or other advice concerning the posture of an estate plan which exists.
Even prior to this crisis, we have on occasion traveled to where people are residing in order to achieve the end of timely and competent drafting and ex*****on of documents. We perceive outdoor meetings for signatures may be appropriate in this difficult time.
