25 years ago today, I was packing boxes in our house in Littleton.

My husband had already moved to Estes Park and started his new job at Eagle Rock School. I was finishing up the house and preparing to join him.

Then September 11 happened.

I remember standing in that house surrounded by boxes, watching the news and trying to comprehend what was happening. Everything suddenly felt very different. The plans for our next chapter were still the plans, but the world we were stepping into had changed.

A few days later, I made that move to Estes Park. And somehow, this little mountain community became home.

25 years later, I still think about the people whose lives changed that day, the families who lost loved ones, and the first responders and ordinary people who ran toward a terrible situation to help others.

And I think about how much community matters.

Neighbors. Friends. First responders. Teachers. Volunteers. People who show up when someone needs them.

Maybe that's one of the things that has kept me here all these years.

Today, I remember those we lost and those who continue to carry that day with them.

Never forgotten. 🇺🇸

Fraud happens, even in Estes Park, here's a quick story 🏡

This summer I got an email from a "seller" wanting to sell their land here in town. They had the address, a reason for selling, all the right pieces. I started doing my usual digging before responding further, and quickly realized I actually knew the real owner. The person emailing wasn't them.

I reported it to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, and gave the real owner a heads up. They ended up combining that lot with their adjoining parcel to close this off for good ⭐

Moral of the story: work with a local agent who actually knows the area. It's not just about the transaction, it's a layer of protection.
