Don’t underestimate the impact of being a good human.

I am grateful for my children, my family, coffee, sarcasm, and the fact that my inner monologue is not available to the public.

Because if anyone could hear what I was thinking during school mornings, client calls, IEP meetings, or basic family outings, I would need immediate legal representation.

And probably a witness protection program.

Being a special education attorney is basically coffee, PDFs, timelines, “quick questions,” draft reports, school emails, and asking for things in writing more times than should be socially necessary.

Some days I am explaining assessments. Some days I am decoding what “they’re fine” is supposed to mean. Some days I am asking for the data and watching everyone suddenly discover the floor.
