As summer draws to a close, we want to say thank you to our law clerks as they end their full-time summer work and head back to law school.

Julia and Malachai have been thoughtful, dependable, hardworking, and eager to learn. They've contributed in meaningful ways behind the scenes. Harvest Legal is a better place because of their efforts.

One of the greatest privileges of practicing in rural Kansas is investing in the next generation of attorneys. We're grateful for the time we've shared with them this summer and look forward to seeing all that is ahead.

Born on this day in 1874 in the small town of West Branch, Iowa, Herbert Hoover would go on to become an engineer, humanitarian, and the 31st President of the United States.

As America celebrates its 250th year, Hoover's words remind us of an enduring American ideal: where we begin does not have to determine how far we can go. Opportunity, hard work, and hope have allowed generations of Americans -- including those from small towns and humble beginnings -- to build lives they could once only imagine.

A little throwback from the Marketing Team:

Over a year ago, we asked Chris's kids to create an ad for powers of attorney. We offered exactly zero explanation of what that meant.

This masterpiece was the result.

The original is still hanging in Chris's office today. What the kids lacked in experience and understanding of what we do, they more than made up for with enthusiasm and creativity.

Looking back, this little project accidentally launched our series and earned the kids their "Marketing Team" title. More importantly, it changed the way we think about sharing legal information with our community. Instead of just talking about the law, we started looking for ways to make it more approachable, more engaging, and maybe even a little fun sometimes.

It's one of our favorite ads.
