Today marks the fourth day of the high-profile preliminary hearing for John Skelton, who's facing murder charges tied to the disappearance of his three sons back in 2010.

Todd Flood joined WXYZ-TV Channel 7 to break down the tactics both the defense and prosecution are using as the court weighs whether there's enough evidence to send the case to trial.

No child should be harmed by the people entrusted to protect them.

That's why we're fighting for justice on behalf of the family of a 12-year-old special needs student who was assaulted by a Lake Orion school bus aide.

The Detroit Free Press shares details about our new civil lawsuit against former aide William Pearson Jr. and the school district following the deeply disturbing incident, which was caught on camera.

The day after a bus aide was sentenced to probation for third-degree child abuse, the district has been sued.

We've filed a motion demanding Oakland County Animal Control return more than 30 horses seized from our client, High Vibe Trail Rides in Milford.

The seizure stemmed from an anonymous neglect complaint made by a disgruntled former employee. When Animal Control responded, they found the horses in good health with food and water.

Our lawsuit on behalf of Dylan Leenheer is getting statewide attention.

TV6 & FOX UP reports on the case: Leenheer, a former Newberry Correctional Facility inmate, alleges he was racially humiliated as a Native American man while incarcerated. Corrections officers altered his prison ID photo to depict him in stereotypical Native American regalia, then showed it to other prisoners.

Dylan deserved dignity behind bars, but he didn't get it. We're standing with him until he gets accountability.

INTERN SPOTLIGHT:
Meet Stefan Kobiljak, a law clerk at Flood Law since May 2025 and a student at Loyola University Chicago School of Law.

Since joining the team, Stefan has researched and drafted memos on both criminal and civil matters, worked directly with clients to identify legal claims, and helped manage FOIA requests and other case correspondence for our attorneys.

Stefan's path to law started at Michigan State University, where he earned his degree in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy, and studied abroad in Rome and Florence. At Loyola, he serves as the 1L representative for the Art Law Society, a fitting role given the certificate in Art Law he earned this summer from the Center for Art Law in New York City.

We're glad to have him on the team, and we're excited to see his legal career take off.

As license plate reader networks expand across Michigan, scrutiny is growing over how the data they collect is accessed and shared, and whether it's being misused. Reports have surfaced of law enforcement officers running searches outside their jurisdiction, and there is no clear national standard for oversight.

Todd Flood joined Roop Raj on FOX 2 Detroit to break down the legal questions surrounding Flock cameras, covering who can legally access the footage, what accountability looks like when the data is misused, and what protections or gaps exist for drivers caught in the system.
