When an accident changes everything, the questions don't stop at the wreck.

A serious collision can do more than total a car. Sometimes it leaves someone unable to go back to the work they've done their whole life — and that's a different fight than the injury claim itself.

In this one, Amanda walks through what happens when an accident turns into a long-term disability, and what families should understand before they assume they're out of options. No legal jargon. Just a clear explanation from someone who does this every day.

If you're sitting with a question like this and don't know where to start, call us. Even if it's not a case we take, we'll help point you in the right direction.

One sentence can quietly undo a strong injury case, and most people say it without thinking.

After a wreck, the other driver's insurance adjuster usually calls within a day or two. The tone is friendly. The questions feel small. And somewhere in that conversation, people often say something like, "I'm okay," or "I feel fine."

It feels polite. It feels like the right thing to say. But injuries from a collision don't always show up right away. Soft tissue pain, headaches, and back problems can take days, sometimes weeks, to surface. Once you've said you feel fine, that sentence follows your case for months, no matter what your body reveals later.
You don't have to be rude to protect yourself. You just have to be honest about what you don't yet know. A simple, "I'm still being evaluated by my doctor," is enough.

Be polite. Be honest. Be patient. And remember, you don't owe anyone a complete answer on the first phone call.

Before you speak with the other driver's insurance company, talk with us. Schedule a free consultation through our website, and let's make sure your words protect you instead of work against you.

Most drivers assume the person who caused the wreck has enough insurance to make things right. In Alabama, that's not always how it goes.

We just published a new article walking through what happens when the at-fault driver doesn't carry enough coverage, and how the policy already sitting in your glove box may be the most important safety net you have.

It's written in plain English, no legal jargon, and it covers the questions we hear most often from drivers across Alabama.

Nobody should have to figure this out alone.

After a wreck. After a serious injury. After a disability claim gets denied and you're staring at a stack of paperwork wondering who you can actually trust.

That's the part most people don't talk about — the loneliness of it. The calls that don't get returned. The forms that don't make sense. The quiet worry that you're missing something important and don't even know what.

Cox, Stansberry & Kinsley handles personal injury and disability cases — from claims close to home to complex litigation across multiple states. Same standard either way. Same care for the person on the other end of the phone.

If you've got questions, we'll give you straight answers. No charge for the conversation. No pressure either way.

You don't have to walk this by yourself.
