Our firm’s primary emphasis has been in the areas of labor and employment law, workers compensation, on job injuries, and fringe benefits. We are a strong advocate for both Plaintiffs and Defendants throughout the United States and our firm has represented clients before administrative agencies including the National Labor Relations Board, EEOC, Illinois Human Rights Commission, Illinois Labor and Education Relation Boards, Merit Protection Board, and the United States Department of Labor.
Marc M. Pekay has represented clients in collective bargaining negotiations, grievances, arbitration cases involving terminations, contract violations, wage claims and whistle blowing charges. The discrimination cases have pertained to claims of gender, s*x, race, handicapped issues. He has also served as counsel and litigator for multi-employer fringe benefit funds involving pension and welfare insurance issues and substantial successful litigation. He has been invited as a guest lecturer for college classes and given individual seminars in all areas of labor, discrimination, and employment law.
The Marc M. Pekay law firm also has a general practice involving personal injury cases, automobile accidents, family law, divorce, worker’s compensation claims, contract issues, and real estate matters including closings and claims before the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board. These cases require individual attention to respond to the needs and desires of the clients and aggressively pursue their objectives.
Marc M. Pekay received his BA from the University of Michigan and is Juris Doctorate from the University of Illinois where he was 4th in moot court competition. He worked as a trial specialist for the National Labor Relations Board in Detroit and Chicago and was a partner in another firm before forming the Marc M. Pekay law firm in 1985.
Marc M. Pekay is licensed to and has practiced before the United States Supreme Court, The Seventh Circuit Court of Appeal, the DC Circuit Court of Appeal; The 5th and various other Circuit Courts of appeal, the Northern District Court in Illinois, the U.S. District Courts in New York and Iowa, the Illinois Supreme Court and the Illinois Courts of Appeal.
