Huge congratulations to the Walton + Brown team on a recent $500,000 settlement in a severe motor vehicle accident injury case.

Severe injury cases are some of the hardest personal injury matters to litigate. The defense is well-funded, insurance carriers fight every dollar, and the medical, vocational, and life-care pieces all have to be built piece by piece. Getting to a result like this takes preparation, persistence, and a team that knows how to tell a client's story in full.

Most importantly, settlements like this mean a client can move forward. Medical bills get paid. Lost wages get recovered. Lives that were upended by someone else's negligence get a real chance at stability again.

We are proud of this team and the work they do every day for Ohio families!

We are incredibly proud to congratulate our partner, Sean Walton, on being named President-Elect of the Columbus NAACP chapter.

Sean's dedication to civil rights and community advocacy extends far beyond the courtroom, and this role is a testament to the lasting impact he has made in Columbus and beyond. At Walton + Brown, we have always believed that real change requires showing up both legally and communally.

Sean exemplifies that every single day. Congratulations!🥳

🎉 Congratulations to Chanda L. Brown on her recertification as an Ohio State Bar Association Board Certified Specialist in Labor and Employment Law, a distinction she holds as the only African American woman in Ohio with this certification.

Board certification through the OSBA is a rigorous credential held by only a small fraction of Ohio attorneys. To earn and keep the designation, an attorney must demonstrate substantial, ongoing experience in employment law, complete advanced continuing legal education in the specialty, be peer-reviewed by judges and other lawyers who know their work, and pass a written examination in the field. Recertification means doing it all over again.

Congratulations, Chanda. The distinction is well-earned, and the representation matters. 👏🏽

: On May 17, 1954, the Supreme Court issued its landmark decision in Brown v. Board of Education, forever changing the landscape of civil rights in America by declaring racial segregation in public schools unconstitutional.

More than seven decades later, the work is far from over. At Walton & Brown, we are proud to be part of a long tradition of advocates who believe that equal protection under the law is not a privilege; it is a right.

We honor the legacy of those who came before us by continuing the fight today.

On Memorial Day, we honor the sacrifice of those who have served our nation in more ways than one.

In the wake of the overturning of the 1965 Voting Rights Act, we know that we have a lot of work to do not only to honor our ancestors but also to build towards a better tomorrow.

To every family still waiting for justice: we see you. We will keep fighting for justice for all. ✊🏾

After years of litigation and advocacy, the family of Casey Goodson Jr. has finally received the justice we've been fighting for. The Goodson family has carried this fight with extraordinary strength and grace. Thank you, Tamala Payne, for trusting us, and to the community for continuing to fight for what is right. Walton & Brown is honored to have stood by their side and to see this moment of accountability arrive.

Former Officer Jason Meade has been charged with reckless homicide and is scheduled to be sentenced on July 16th.
