Two hundred and fifty years didn’t happen by accident. It happened because of sacrifice by the people that got the calling to protect this country. People left home when it was hard to leave, they missed birthdays, holidays and everyday moments so the rest of us could keep having them. It took real guts, and because of that we get to live in this country with independence and freedom every single day.

Today we get the honor to spotlight only a few of the people that made the last 250 years happen. Our family, our friends and our clients happen to be these wonderful people we’ve had the honor of knowing. We want to thank you and your families for your service to this country!

Every year Keller Williams as a company, sets aside one day to step away from the office and give back. It is called RED Day and today SL1 Homes Group, along with other agents and leadership from Keller Williams Greater Columbus, spent it at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio!

Did you know Columbus, Ohio is home to the largest Ronald McDonald House in the entire world? We were told that they continue to run off the hours of people volunteering and that they have on average enough hours every year for 27 full-time positions with the amount of hours people help them!

For anyone who has never heard of Ronald McDonald House, when a child is seriously ill and needs hospital care, families should not have to worry about where they will sleep or how they will eat. Ronald McDonald House gives those families a safe and comfortable place to stay close to the hospital so they can focus on what matters most, their child.

Today we had the chance to pitch in and help keep that mission going. We helped clean and stock the facility, made blankets by hand for families staying there, and prepared and served food so families had one less thing on their plate during an already hard time.

Being there today and seeing other volunteers and the rooms sponsored by so many well known companies is a reminder of something special about this city. Columbus doesn’t just talk about supporting its community but they show it! Columbus Blue Jackets Columbus Crew Huntington National Bank
