We are thrilled to host the amazing traveling exhibit Aloha Vaqueros, originating from the Museo del Vaquero de las Californias in Mexico!
Aloha Vaqueros explores the shared heritage of Hawaiian Paniolos, Mexican Vaqueros, and the American Cowboy. Through historical photographs, authentic artifacts, and compelling storytelling, the exhibit highlights the cultural exchange that shaped ranching and rodeo traditions across Hawaii, Mexico, and the American West. The exhibit will feature both Spanish and English interpretations.
We’re kicking off this extraordinary exhibit with a special opening reception on April 11, from 4:00–6:00 pm, and we are honored to have the following guest speakers:
~Dr. Billy Bergin, representing the Hawaiian Paniolos
~A representative from the Museo del Vaquero de las Californias, speaking on the Mexican Vaquero tradition
~Mike Kassel, Curator of the Cheyenne Frontier Days™ Old West Museum, discussing the history and legacy of the American Cowboy
Adding to the celebration, the Mosaíco Folklórico Dancers will perform, and guests will enjoy appetizers and beverages.
Join us for this unique, cross-cultural experience! Keep an eye out as we share more Aloha Vaqueros programming coming soon.
