100 grams can now mean at least 5 years in an Arizona prison.

Under the new law, a first-offense conviction for selling or transporting 100+ grams of fentanyl carries a mandatory 5 to 15 years. With a prior conviction, it's 10 to 20 years, and probation is not an option.

As of September 12, 2026, mandatory prison sentences for selling or transporting fentanyl now start at 100 grams, down from 200. A first offense at that level carries 5 to 15 years in prison.
