Are you planning an international summer trip with your children? ✈️🌍
If you share custody in Arizona, travel isn’t always as simple as booking a flight. Many parenting plans require advance notice, written consent, or specific steps before taking a child out of the country. Here are a few important tips to help you prepare:

✔️ Review your parenting plan carefully before making travel arrangements
✔️ Communicate early with your co-parent and provide full travel details
✔️ Get written consent when required and keep a copy for your records
✔️ Confirm passport validity and any necessary travel documentation for your child
✔️ Plan ahead in case court approval or additional steps are needed

Taking the right steps ahead of time can help you avoid delays, misunderstandings, and unnecessary stress.

How long does an Arizona divorce take? ⏳📆
It depends. Every divorce is unique, and the timeline can vary based on several factors.
✔️ Residency requirement: At least one spouse must have lived in the state for at least 90 days before filing.

✔️ Mandatory waiting period: Arizona law requires a 60-day “cooling-off” period.

✔️ Serving the spouse: The divorce petition must be formally served, and the other spouse typically has 20 days to respond (30 days if served out of state).

✔️ Uncontested vs. contested: When both parties agree on key issues (an uncontested divorce), the process is typically faster and can often be resolved within a few months. If there are disagreements (a contested divorce), the timeline is usually longer and may involve negotiation, mediation, or court proceedings.
