We’ve all seen those posts.

The internet loves to laugh at homes that are a little… different.

But here’s what most people don’t realize.

The features that go viral online aren’t always deal breakers in real life. Sometimes they’re easy fixes. Sometimes buyers see past them completely. And sometimes the house everyone is making fun of ends up selling faster than expected.

A home doesn’t need to be perfect to be valuable. It just needs to be the right fit for the right buyer.

Before you write off a house because of one odd feature, remember that paint, flooring, and light fixtures are a lot easier to change than location.

The fastest way to make house hunting miserable with your partner is to start touring homes before you’ve actually agreed on what you’re looking for.

You think you’re aligned. Then you walk into a place, one of you lights up, the other goes quiet, and suddenly you’re negotiating with each other instead of the seller.

Have the conversation first. Non-negotiables, nice-to-haves, the number you’re both genuinely comfortable with, and what you’re each secretly afraid of.
