This picture of Bill and Laura was taken on top of the World Trade Center just days before September 11, 2001.

At the time, it was simply a photograph from a special trip—a beautiful view, a happy moment, and a place we never imagined would soon be forever changed.

Just days later, our nation watched in disbelief as the Twin Towers fell and thousands of innocent lives were lost. So many families said goodbye that morning without knowing it would be the last time.

Today, we remember the 2,977 lives lost, the first responders who ran toward danger when others were running away, the families who have carried that loss ever since, and the countless Americans whose lives were forever changed.

This photograph has become a powerful reminder to us of how quickly life can change—and how important it is to cherish the people we love, appreciate the moments we are given, and never forget the sacrifices of that day.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

🚌 School is Back in Session—Let’s Keep Our Kids Safe! 🚌

As students head back to school, school buses will once again be on the roads each morning and afternoon. That means it’s time for all of us to slow down, stay alert, and remember that a child’s safety is worth far more than saving a few seconds.

When a school bus has its red lights flashing and stop arm extended, STOP. Children may be crossing the road, and they can be difficult to see.

A few reminders:
✅ Put your phone away while driving.
✅ Slow down in school zones.
✅ Watch for children near bus stops.
✅ Never pass a stopped school bus when the law requires you to stop.

Georgia strengthened penalties for illegally passing a stopped school bus through Addy’s Law, a reminder of why these safety rules matter so much.

We hope every student, teacher, bus driver, and family has a safe and successful school year!

🏗️ Not Every Work Injury Looks the Same.

When most people think of a workplace injury, they picture a sudden accident. But under Georgia workers’ compensation law, many different types of injuries may qualify for benefits.

Here are some of the most common work-related injuries:

✅ Slip, Trip, and Fall Injuries – Broken bones, head injuries, back injuries, and sprains caused by falls on the job.

✅ Lifting and Overexertion Injuries – Back, neck, shoulder, and knee injuries from lifting, pushing, pulling, or repetitive physical work.

✅ Repetitive Motion Injuries – Conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, and other injuries that develop over time from repeated movements.

✅ Machinery and Equipment Accidents – Crush injuries, amputations, cuts, and other serious injuries involving tools or heavy equipment.

✅ Motor Vehicle Accidents – If you’re injured while driving for work, you may have a workers’ compensation claim in addition to other legal rights.

✅ Burns and Electrical Injuries – Thermal burns, chemical burns, and electrical shock injuries can happen in many industries.

✅ Exposure Injuries – Harm caused by toxic chemicals, hazardous substances, excessive heat, or harmful dust and fumes.

✅ Occupational Illnesses – Certain illnesses that develop because of workplace exposure may also be covered.

No matter how your injury happened, it’s important to report it to your employer as soon as possible and seek appropriate medical treatment. Waiting too long can affect your rights.

If you’ve been hurt at work in Georgia and have questions about your benefits, Parker & Lundy is here to help.
