From Chaos to Clarity: Why I Do What I Do

Yesterday, I found myself telling a friend how everything I’ve been through has led me here — to the work I do today.

From hiding under tables at age 4 while my mom was being abused…
To growing up in deep financial and emotional instability…
To navigating my own difficult marriages and being chewed up by the Colorado family law system.

I didn’t just wake up one day and become a divorce mediator, CDFA, and coach. I lived the chaos. I felt the fear. I paid the price — emotionally, financially, and spiritually.

That’s why I’m so passionate about making divorce more accessible. I intentionally undercharge for my services — because no one should have to go bankrupt just to get out of a broken marriage.

Yes, divorce isn’t rocket science. But when you’re dealing with real estate, retirement accounts, pensions, kids, and the emotions that come with all of it — it can feel like navigating a minefield blindfolded.

That’s where I come in.

💔 Holding On Hurts More Than Letting Go 💬

As a divorce mediator, I’ve witnessed countless couples cling to toxic marriages—out of fear, guilt, or the hope that things might magically improve. But here’s the hard truth:

Staying in a relationship that drains you emotionally, mentally, or even physically doesn’t save your family—it slowly erodes it.

🤯 Constant conflict doesn’t build resilience in children; it builds anxiety.
🧠 Chronic stress from an unhealthy marriage can impact your health and sense of self.
💬 Silence and resentment don’t equal peace—they’re just loud in a different way.

Post-separation abuse is real—and it doesn’t discriminate by gender.

In my work, I’ve recently witnessed two separate situations where the abusive dynamics didn’t end with the relationship. Instead, the harmful behaviors spilled over, impacting not only the former partner but also others around them—including myself.

This serves as a powerful reminder: abuse rarely stays contained. It ripples outward, often harming people who are simply trying to help or support healing.

We must continue to speak up, set boundaries, and hold individuals accountable. Only by addressing post-separation abuse head-on can we begin to create safer outcomes for everyone involved.
