Advice from our expert attorney, Heather Collins, on ensuring employers comply with workplace discrimination laws:

“Employers must be vigilant in upholding their obligations to protect employees from discrimination by understanding and complying with all applicable laws. This includes enacting and enforcing policies that prohibit discrimination, providing comprehensive training for employees and supervisors on workplace discrimination, and conducting thorough investigations whenever a complaint of discrimination is made. Employers should also be sure to seek experienced legal counsel when dealing with any employee-related matters.”

Taking these steps as an employer can mean the difference between offending someone + facing a lawsuit, and working respectfully + avoiding breaking the law.

What is workplace harassment?
