Something I get asked a lot: "Is Arizona actually affordable compared to Washington?"
Here's the honest math. Lets take what a $650,000 home gets you
The Washington state median home price right now is $650,000. In Snohomish County, the median is closer to $736,000, King County is about $875,000 — so if your home has appreciated, there's a real chance you're sitting on significant equity.
That same $650,000 in Gold Canyon, AZ gets you:
• 2,200–2,800 square feet
• Mountain views of the Superstitions
• A pool (very common at this price point)
• A spacious master suite
• Golf course community options
• No Washington state income tax to worry about
The gap is real. And for a lot of people I talk to, it changes the conversation entirely.
Some clients sell their Washington home, buy outright in Arizona, and have money left in their pocket. Some use their equity to own in both states. Some just want to understand what's possible before they decide anything.
That's what I'm here for. I live in Bothell, WA and Gold Canyon, AZ, and I work both real estate markets. If you've been curious about what your equity could do, I'm happy to walk through the numbers with you. No obligation, no sales pitch.
