Last week was one of those weeks that truly tested me. I was overwhelmed, stressed, burnt out, and for a moment, I even found myself questioning whether being a family law attorney was really my calling.
And then came yesterday and today. š„¹āØ
Yesterday, I walked into court for two final hearings and walked out with TWO victories! A stepparent adoption was GRANTED, and a petition for temporary custody was GRANTED! ā¤ļø
And today? I received another order granting my client's petition to modify child support! THREE victories in TWO days! šš¼
But here's the thing⦠it's not just about winning cases. It's about the families behind those cases. It's about helping a child find permanency, giving a family peace of mind, and making a difference in someone's life when they need it most.
This profession isn't always easy. Some days are emotionally exhausting, and some weeks make you question everything. But then there are days like these that remind me exactly why I chose this path.
This is my calling. This is my purpose. This is what sets my soul on fire. š„ā¤ļø
And if last week taught me anything, it's that even when you're doing what you love, you can still have hard days. That doesn't mean you're on the wrong path.
Feeling incredibly grateful today. For the victories, for the lessons, for the families who trust me, and for the opportunity to do work that means so much to me.
A little reminder to myself: Never let a bad week make you forget why you started. šāļø
