Quick tip for small business owners: messy books don't just cause stress at tax time, they can also mean missed deductions, which means overpaying the IRS without even knowing it. If it's been a while since your books were reconciled, it might be worth a look. I offer one-time cleanups if you ever want a second set of eyes on things.

Confession: half the business owners I talk to have a stack of receipts somewhere they've been meaning to deal with 'eventually.' No judgment here, it happens to the best of us. 💰DAY 1: WHY BOOKKEEPING ACTUALLY MATTERS

Okay real talk---- if you own a business and you think bookkeeping is just "keep your receipts in case something happens," we need to chat.

Your books are literally the only way you know if your business is making money or just LOOKING like it's making money. Big difference. I've seen owners with a packed schedule and a full calendar who were actually bleeding cash every month --- they just didn't know it because nobody was looking at the numbers.

And here's the thing that gets people every single time: waiting until tax season to figure out what happened. By April, girl, it's already over. You can't fix March in April. All you can do at that point is report what already happened.

Your numbers need attention all year. Not just during tax season panic mode.

Because when you don't know your numbers, you're not really running your business--- you're guessing. And guessing is expensive.

So be honest with me: are your books caught up right now, or are we avoiding that folder? 👀
