After 14 hours of sleep 😴 and finally coming up for air after the tax deadline… I’ve had a moment to just sit and reflect.
Running on empty during tax season is nothing new, but what *is* new every year is the overwhelming sense of gratitude that hits once it’s all over. The pressure lifts, the phones quiet down, and I’m reminded just how incredibly blessed we are.
A.L. Wood Accounting was built by my mom, Ann Wood — and what she created is so much more than a business. It’s a legacy of trust, relationships, and taking care of people. In 2018, I stepped into the role of managing partner as we began preparing for her retirement. And while she hasn’t quite slowed down yet (and honestly, I’m not sure she ever will completely 😊), she is starting to take those steps — with plans to eventually return during tax season to continue serving the clients she has loved for so many years.
That kind of dedication is rare. And it’s something that has shaped everything we do.
Today, I’m just incredibly thankful. Thankful for a team that shows up, works hard, and truly cares. Thankful for clients — both long-time and new — who trust us with something so important in their lives. That trust is never taken lightly, and it is one of the greatest blessings of this journey.
We don’t just prepare tax returns — we build relationships, we support families and businesses, and we walk alongside you year after year.
We have some exciting things happening this year as we plan for a full renovation of the building we share with Wood Pharmacy, which will include a much larger reception area and can’t wait to invite you all out to see it later this year!
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for allowing us to do what we love. ❤️
Now… time to enjoy a little rest before we gear up for what’s next.
Much love to everyone, Angela
