The Fourth of July gave me a chance to reflect on what “independence” really means to me.

Owning my own business has given me the opportunity to build a career around what matters most: I help families find a place to call home while being present with my family in our home in the Cleveland area.

A few weeks ago, I was able to volunteer with the Cleveland School Rotary Club before watching my daughter’s excitement at the Celebrate Cleveland parade.

Seeing neighbors, volunteers, and other local businesses come together to create something special was a great reminder of what makes Johnston County such a wonderful place to live.

To me, independence means having the freedom to serve others, invest in your community, and be present for the moments that matter most. And JoCo celebrates all that proudly.

I’m grateful to serve Johnston County, and I hope you and your family had a wonderful Independence Day.
