I’ve made a living out of reading people’s faces, but insurnace companies only talk about managing risk. Your life and injuries shouldn’t be managed as a risk, they should be respected and appreciated with accountability and dignity. I started my law practice in 2003 and have spent 23 years making sure that my clients don’t get lost in the system and I’m honored to be recognized as Best of the Northwest in 2026.

Maintaining a safe speed is a legal duty of care. Even if the legal limit is 20mph or 60 on the freeway, driver’s are legal in expected to maintain a safe speed for the conditions on the road including pedestrians, bicyclists, and other motorists. If you’ve been injured by someone else’s carelessness, you have rights including a 3 year time limit to settle your claim or sue.

Starting this week, speed limits are being lowered to 20 mph on residential and downtown streets to reduce the risk of collisions and serious injuries. By slowing down in our neighborhoods and other places where people walk, bike, and gather, we can make streets safer for everyone.
