Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, to ensure the freedom of those who were still enslaved. It stands as an important occasion to recognize and honor the strength, culture, and resilience of Black Americans.
In observance of the holiday, our office will be closed tomorrow. We’ll be back on Monday, June 22nd. We hope you have a meaningful and joyful Juneteenth!
