Another Trial victory for A&A Law!

After three hard-fought weeks in King County Superior Court — a complete defense verdict!
Our clients, an Emergency Medicine physician and a physician assistant, were two of six defendants in a complex medical negligence case.

This is what we do. Whether defending a physician whose reputation and career are on the line, or we are standing beside a plaintiff who has been wronged — we bring the same level of preparation, strategy, and dedication to every single case.

Defense verdict for our Emergency Medicine physician client after two weeks of trial!! They asked for $25 million, but no… Zero.

First full trial assisted by my daughter Lola, she was amazing!!! And as always, grateful to my Associate and experienced trial partner Bryan Terry, awesome job!!! Looking forward to the next one 👍😎

Allen & Associates Law PLLC Attends Panel Discussion at the Unites States District Court for the Western District of Washington

Yesterday, Tim Allen and Lo**ta Yermak had the honor of attending the distinguished panel “Stress and Duress: Past and Present Challenges to the Judicial Branch” and listen to Hon. J. Michelle Childs - Circuit Judge, Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia; Hon. Jeremy D. Fogel - Executive Director, BJI UC Berkeley School of Law; Professor. Marin Levy - Duke University School of Law; and Professor Michael Gerhardt - UNC School of Law.

In addition to the many important topics raised, including the current threats to an independent judiciary, there was a valuable discussion regarding unrestrained social media rhetoric. The panel agreed it is important to support teachers in educating the new generation on critical thinking skills and how to filter information in the face of such unrestrained rhetoric on social media. The more our citizenry is educated on the Constitution and the history of our democracy, the stronger that democracy becomes!

Last week, Tim Allen and Lo**ta Yermak attended closing arguments in Seattle in the trial of another P*P/Monsanto case brought by some of the same trial lawyers who have tried similar cases. There have been a number of verdicts on similar facts, all arising from P*P exposure at a middle school in Monroe, WA. This link is to the biggest verdict so far (later reduced in part by a court):

A&A LAW RECOVERS SIGNIFICANT PERSONAL INJURY SETTLEMENT

Tim Allen and Lo**ta Yermak of Allen & Associates Law, in conjunction with co-counsel Dan DeLue of DeLue Law PLLC, recently settled a case involving catastrophic injuries.

The victim, who is Latino, was sitting in his truck on the side of a county road in Central Washington when he was shot in the head by an arrow from a cross-bow. A four-inch section of the arrow remained in the victim’s head. The team sued the shooter and his employer, a large agricultural operation, alleging various theories of liability, including violation of the Washington Law Against Discrimination. The case presented the difficulty of establishing employer liability for the shooter’s criminal act.

Nevertheless, the team recovered $700,000 in settlement on behalf of their client.
