Yesterday, I spent the day development hopping through Fort Lauderdale with fellow Douglas Elliman agents, touring five of the city’s newest projects.
It’s impressive to see how entire neighborhoods are evolving.
Flagler Village, which has often been compared to the “Wynwood of Ft Lauderdale” has grown from a warehouse/industrial district into a residential enclave of its own. With the Brightline nearby, downtown just minutes away and Las Olas within two miles, it’s easy to understand why developments like Ombrélle and Viceroy are choosing this area.
Fort Lauderdale may still offer more attainable opportunities than Miami, but its appeal is becoming a cultural and lifestyle destination while holding on to the charm that makes it feel like a smaller city.
You have the restaurants, boutiques and walkability of Las Olas, a lifestyle built around boating and the water, and a growing selection of residences ranging from the $400Ks to ultra-luxury waterfront developments along the Intracoastal.
It was incredible to see how each project is contributing something different.
From the wellness-driven lifestyle at Ombrélle and the Viceroy beach club to the waterfront luxury surrounding developments such as Andare on Las Olas, Ritz-Carlton Residences and St. Regis Residences Bahia Mar.
Even after 27 years in real estate, days like this remind me how important it is to keep learning, exploring and seeing these changes firsthand.
