A five-year-old girl was found unresponsive on a couch. Her uncle is now on trial for her murder, nearly nine years later.

âž” Paitin Fields, age 5, died in 2017. Autopsy confirmed s*xual trauma and strangulation.
âž” David Prevatte identified as a suspect in 2018. Arrested in 2022 after a years long investigation.
âž” He faces first-degree murder and multiple s*x offense charges.
âž” The defense is pointing at another individual who was in the home, but the prosecution says only Prevatte locked that door.
âž” DNA evidence still expected later on in the trial.
