New laws for eviction cases. It will take effect in September 2019.

Currently, tenants in California have three days to respond to an eviction notice — by either remedying the violation or vacating the property — and five days to respond to an eviction lawsuit. Under the new law, weekends and court holidays will not count toward the deadline.
