There’s a saying I’ve heard my whole career: never look back, always look ahead.

I think that’s generally right. The next case, next trial, next client — that’s where the work is.

But I caught this in my side mirror traveling across Texas and it stopped me. Thirty years in, I’ve learned that looking back isn’t always getting stuck.

Sometimes it’s a reminder of the road you came down. Of why you started. Of how far it actually goes when you stop staring straight ahead.

The view forward gets clearer when you’ve been honest about what’s behind you. Don’t ever hesitate to look back once in a while.

Our firm is growing! Welcome our new associate attorney, Guilherme (Gui) Vasconcelos.

I’ve known Gui for a few years and I have been impressed with his skills and drive to be a great trial lawyer. Gui has already obtained two significant 7 figure verdicts during his 8 year career, and I have no doubt that more are to come.

Aside from being a great trial lawyer, Gui is a dedicated husband and father. We are excited to have Gui join the Team!

Two years ago, we took a leap — with a vision, a lot of faith, and a willingness to walk through uncertainty.

Bringing my 33 years of personal injury experience to Austin was a transition. Starting fresh in a new market comes with challenges, but it has been well worth it.

Along the way, we’ve been honored to help more than 100 clients and recover millions of dollars on their behalf. That impact is what makes every long day and every obstacle worth it.

There were stretches that felt like walking through the middle of the tunnel — focused, determined, and trusting that the light ahead was worth it.

Today, as we celebrate our firm’s 2nd anniversary, I’m incredibly grateful for our team, our clients, and everyone who believed in the vision from day one.

We’re just getting started.
