Sometimes things fall apart so better things can fall into place. 🤍

Right now, it probably does not feel that way. It feels like everything is crumbling. Like you are losing control. Like the future is uncertain and honestly a little terrifying.

We know. And we want you to hear this from people who have sat across the table from hundreds of families walking through exactly what you are facing right now.

The end of a marriage is not the end of your story.

We have seen people who were terrified of starting over go on to build the most fulfilling chapters of their lives. We have seen parents worried sick about their kids raise strong, resilient children who thrive in two loving homes. We have seen people who were scared they would lose everything walk away with a fair settlement and a genuine fresh start.

We have seen people who swore they would never be happy again find peace, freedom, and joy on the other side of this.

Divorce is hard. It is one of the most painful things a person can go through. But pain is not the end of the story. It is often the beginning of something better than what you had the courage to leave.

Trust the process. You are going to be okay.

We made the list. Again. 🎉🏆

Kimbrough Family Law has been named a 2026 Inc. 5000 Honoree for the second consecutive year, recognized as one of America's fastest-growing private companies.

Two years in a row. That is not luck. That is a team that shows up, a mission that holds, and clients who trust us with some of the most important moments of their lives.

This is not just a number on a list. This is a reflection of every client who trusted us, every team member who showed up, and every family we had the privilege of walking alongside through some of the hardest moments of their lives.

We started this firm with a clear mission. To provide strong, compassionate, and strategic legal representation for Texas families. And this recognition tells us we are doing exactly that, and then some.

To our clients, our team, and everyone who has been part of this journey, thank you. This belongs to all of you. 💙

We are so proud. And we are just getting started.

Here’s what you need to know: Mediation isn’t about taking everything from your spouse, it’s about working toward a fair, balanced agreement. Both parties will need to compromise. If children are involved, it’s even more important to approach the process with respect. The goal isn’t to “win”, it’s to move forward in a way that protects your peace, your family, and your future.

Ready to resolve matters respectfully and efficiently? Let us guide you through the mediation process with compassion and clarity.

Can you lose conservatorship for refusing to co-parent? In Texas, not usually in one dramatic ruling. But it can absolutely cost you rights, decision-making authority, and time with your child.

Here's what most parents miss.

When a Texas judge decides conservatorship, the question isn't only who is the better parent. The law directs the court to weigh whether each parent can encourage and accept a positive relationship between the child and the other parent. Tex. Fam. Code § 153.134(a)(3).

That factor carries real weight.

What puts your conservatorship at risk:

❌ Refusing to communicate with the other parent about your child's school, health, or wellbeing.

❌ Speaking negatively about the other parent in front of your children. Judges hear about it, and it reflects on whether you can put your child's emotional health ahead of your own feelings.

❌ Withholding possession without a legal basis. Denying court-ordered time is a violation of the order, and it can be enforced against you.

❌ Making major decisions alone when the order requires joint decision-making.

❌ Undermining your child's relationship with the other parent. Texas courts treat alienating behavior seriously, and in significant cases it can support a modification of conservatorship.

One important caveat: if there is a genuine safety concern, family violence, substance abuse, neglect, the answer is not to withhold on your own. It is to go to court and ask for protective terms. Self-help is what gets otherwise good parents in trouble.

Here's the hard truth. Divorce is painful. Co-parenting with someone you no longer want in your life is harder. But the moment your conflict starts shaping your child's relationship with their other parent, the court will notice.

Your child deserves both parents. Protecting that relationship is not just the right thing to do. In Texas, it is the strategic one.

If you have concerns about your co-parenting arrangement, or you believe the other parent is interfering with your relationship with your child, don't wait.

Tell us your story. We will help you protect it. 🤍

No two cases are the same. Because no two families are the same. No two relationships. No two people.

What you are going through right now is personal. It is complicated. And it deserves more than a one-size-fits-all approach from someone who barely knows your name.

Here is how we show up for our clients:

We listen first. Before strategy, before paperwork, before anything else, we want to understand where you are, what matters most to you, and what you are most afraid of losing.

We speak plainly. No overwhelming legal language. No runaround. Just clear, honest conversations about your options and what to expect at every step.

We fight for what matters. In negotiations, in mediation, or in the courtroom, we show up ready to protect your rights, your children, and your future.

This might be one of the hardest seasons of your life. You deserve a team that treats it that way.

Your story matters. Come tell it to us.
