A major Georgia Supreme Court decision just reshaped the conversation around medical malpractice.

In Clark v. Leigh, the Court ruled that Georgia's $350,000 cap on certain medical malpractice damages cannot be used to override a jury's verdict when constitutional protections apply, restoring a family's $31.75 million verdict after it had been reduced to $350,000.

The decision reinforces a fundamental principle: when a jury hears the evidence, politicians cannot simply erase its findings.

If you or your family has been affected by medical negligence, understanding this ruling could make a significant difference. Read our latest blog to learn what Clark v. Leigh means for Georgia families and why the details of a case matter from day one.

Summer roads are packed. Emergency rooms are, too.

The period between Memorial Day and Labor Day is often called the "100 Deadliest Days" due to a spike in crashes, injuries, and fatalities. But the danger doesn't always end at the accident scene.
When hospitals are overwhelmed, especially on busy summer weekends, delays, communication breakdowns, and missed diagnoses can have devastating consequences.

Friday nights in July can be one of the busiest times of the year for emergency departments. If you're injured in a crash, getting timely and appropriate medical care is critical.

Before you hit the road this summer, learn why the risks may extend beyond the highway: https://bit.ly/4xYttPc

Medical malpractice cases sometimes don't begin with a dramatic mistake. More often, they begin with a missed finding, a breakdown in communication, or one decision that should have been different.

The Daily Report featured Bell Law Firm's Yarbrough case, which recently resolved through a full policy limit settlement.

The case is a reminder that accountability matters. When preventable failures are exposed, healthcare becomes safer for the next patient and the next family.

: The warning signs were there. The follow-up wasn't.
After an $18.3M verdict, Bell Law Firm secured a $6M policy-limit settlement for the family of Ron Yarbrough, whose fatal heart attack followed alleged failures to address critical cardiac red flags before elective surgery.

When healthcare providers ignore red flags, patients pay the price. We're committed to making sure those failures don't go unanswered.

Summer fun sends millions to the ER every year. Heat exhaustion, boating accidents, burns, dehydration, food poisoning, and sports injuries all spike during the hottest months of the year.

But packed emergency rooms and overwhelmed providers can create another danger: rushed care, delayed treatment, and missed diagnoses. What starts as a “routine” summer injury can turn life-altering when warning signs are ignored.

At Bell Law Firm, we’ve seen the devastating consequences of preventable medical mistakes. If something feels wrong after an ER visit, trust your instincts and get a second opinion. A crowded emergency room is never an excuse for negligent care.

Medical negligence cases are rarely tied to a single error. More often, they reveal larger breakdowns in communication, decision making, and patient safety that can put lives at risk.

A recent article exploring medical negligence lawsuits highlights the legal and medical challenges continuing to shape malpractice litigation, from delayed diagnoses to broader systemic failures in care. For trial lawyers, these cases remain a critical part of the fight for accountability across the healthcare system.
