CaseMetrix

CaseMetrix A settlement and verdict database designed by lawyers for lawyers CaseMetrix is comprised of 94%

settlements and 6% verdicts.

CaseMetrix is a cooperative network of plaintiff and defense attorneys,

mediators and insurance carriers currently in the southeastern United

States. Members of the CaseMetrix network agree to enter personal

injury settlements and verdicts into the database in exchange for

the ability to search the database. Unlike other legal databases that typically

reflect outlier verdicts primarily su

bmitted by plaintiff’s attorneys, the

bulk of CaseMetrix data is the middle layer of settlements and verdicts

that has never before been collected. Founded in 2009, CaseMetrix uses the latest cloud-based technology

to accumulate and search for cases. Unlike other databases where

searching is text based and the results slow and tedious to review,

CaseMetrix is parameter driven and built for speed. Our data comes

in daily from across the network, ensuring the database is constantly

refreshed with recent information. CaseMetrix never reports the names of litigants and attorneys have the

flexibility to reveal themselves or insurance carries on an individual case

basis. We capture over 350 injuries which affords very targeted results. Our cutting edge technology allows to you search, review, email and

print cases quickly, as well as save searches. When saved, our system

automatically notifies you when we receive new cases that match your

search criteria. CaseMetrix gives both plaintiff and defense attorneys

an objective tool to manage client expectations. Lastly, we can create

branded CaseMetrix receipts to provide the proper paper foundation if

attorneys choose to bill it back to clients.

Plaintiff was ultimately diagnosed with late-stage metastatic cervical cancer in 2019, and the jury found the defendants negligent for failing to perform recommended follow-up testing despite repeated abnormal results.

Following the death of 26-year-old from an accidental overdose while in custody at the Claiborne County Jail, his estate alleged jail staff failed to provide adequate medical care. The defense argued there were no clear signs of a medical emergency and that Burkhart was responsible for his own condition. After a three-day federal trial, the jury found no liability, and a defense verdict was entered with no damages awarded.

This case involves a landmark medical malpractice action arising from the 2019 labor and delivery of a minor child. The Plaintiffs, the parents of the baby, alleged that newly oriented nursing staff administered dangerously high levels of Pitocin for an extended period despite clear signs of fetal distress.

The on-call physician failed to respond appropriately, resulting in a delayed C-section after more than 30 hours of labor. As a consequence of these failures, the child was born with a severe hypoxic ischemic brain injury, necessitating lifelong, round-the-clock care.
